I rarely make resolutions on New Year’s Eve because historically I forget about them by January 3rd. Throughout the year I try to think about ways to become a better person (help others more often), ways to maintain authenticity (being honest without offending anyone), and ways to simplify my life (buy less Amazon products), to name a few.
Being as next month I will hit the big seven zero, I have set some goals for next year. I could write a long, meaningful list, but I have decided to start with the small stuff for now, based on my limited success with resolutions. Here are a few of my easy current goals:
1. Buy sports bras, even though I don’t do any sports.
2. Stop using the treadmill as a large clothes rack because moving clothes to the closet is not considered exercise.
3. Cancel my membership to Kindle Unlimited because the only thing that is unlimited is the number of books that I have not enjoyed reading.
4. Spend less money and avoid further skin damage by switching from gel manicures to regular manicures.
5. Order Starbucks to drink during manicure appointments and learn to enjoy waiting for my nails to dry. (See #4.)
Now that I have committed these ideas to paper, I am going to check the porch for my Amazon orders because some things are harder to change than others.
