December is traditionally the time to begin reflecting upon the past year and to create goals for the new year. Research shows that the majority of New Year’s resolutions seem to focus on weight loss, increasing exercise, making/saving money, and getting organized.
I have enthusiastically made many resolutions throughout the years. I really did intend to learn to play the piano, to train our dog to go for walks without feeling like we are in the Indianapolis 500, and to keep the tops and bottoms of the food keepers together or at least in the same cabinet, just to name a few. It is not that these goals were not achievable – they just never happened. When I realize how many well-intentioned goals I have set during the past 50 years, it is easy to come to a realistic conclusion.
This year’s New Year’s resolution is one I can actually keep- no resolutions this year.
Wishing you a happy and healthy 2023!
