Until last week, I rarely took weather predictions seriously. Countless reports of a “storm watch” usually resulted in so few raindrops that you could practically count them.
In contrast to our usual drought-ridden climate, record breaking amounts of rain made headlines day after day. We unearthed the multitude of flashlights hidden in every room only to discover that the batteries were no longer functional in many of them. We took our dog outside for many potty breaks in the rain only to discover that once we gave up and went inside, she had another agenda.
Luckily, we did not have any damage from this unusual weather event. Our post drought solid brown “lawn” is coming back to life and our cars are clean all via Mother Nature. We now have an ample battery supply of D, C, AA, and AAA batteries which sounds like the inventory of Victoria’s Secret.
It never rains in Southern California – it pours, man it pours.
