WHERE IS MY CAR?

In 1967, the Union 76 gas stations handed out little orange styrofoam balls with their logo on them. We placed them on our fully extended antennas in an attempt to help locate our cars in parking lots. This trend died out in the 1980’s, however, in 1995, Jack in the Box promoted their version of an “antenna ball” which displayed Jack’s famous head. As the years passed, antennas became embedded in the windshield of many cars which eliminated the “antenna ball” trend.

When I purchased a car five years ago, I had a great deal of difficulty finding it in parking lots since there were so many cars with varying shades of gray and silver. My grandson, who was four at the time, was with me shortly after I bought the car when I could not remember exactly where I parked. Luckily, he had noticed early on that my wheels had a somewhat distinctive pattern and we were able to locate our car quickly.

At the present time when the wheel identification game does not work, my current solution is to keep hitting the unlock button on the key fob and listening for the resulting high pitch sound.

Basically, I am playing Marco Polo with my car.
