Flowers on cupcakes and liquid eye liner,
Cardigan sweaters that are not designer,
Pretty umbrellas for rain up above,
These are some things I am learning to love.
Ok, so this is hardly the Sound of Music, but hopefully it got your attention. In a world filled with so many problems, this post focuses on insignificant, silly things which really are my new favorites.
The flowers on cupcakes is a real thing – I finally learned how to use special frosting piping tips (they have been living in a box for ten years) to make flowers on cupcakes and cakes. The liquid eyeliner is a new member of my makeup collection and after approximately 15 attempts to draw “cat eyes”, I finally managed to get more of the liquid on my eyes than in them. I found out that if black eyeliner comes in contact with the white part of your eye, it will spread instantly- not exactly the look I was going for, unless it is Halloween.
The long cardigans have been welcome additions to my wardrobe. They are colorful, very inexpensive, and they make a white t-shirt look classy, unless you forget to peel off the size sticker on the front.
I miss the days when “storm watch” meant two minutes of rain, and umbrellas lived under blankets, jackets, and flip flops in the trunks of cars, untouched forever.
Sorry, Julie Andrews – I am too busy watching water dripping from my bathroom ceiling to enjoy the raindrops on roses.
