Many people in our generation are busy trying to reduce and eliminate many of the material things in their homes. The not-so-hidden meaning of that statement is they are figuring out that their homes are filled with stuff they do not want and probably never needed. We are donating to charities, filling our trash bins, and/or creating boxes with items for our grown children. It appears that our lives were spent collecting things and now we can’t wait to get rid of everything.
In contrast, many of our grown children are living “less is more” lifestyles. They are primarily focused on financial security and living balanced lives with a minimum of material things.
As a result, it is unlikely that they will thank us when those boxes arrive at their front doors, because let’s face it, more is just more.
