My husband really likes the music of the sixties while my favorites are from the seventies.. Through the seven years we have been together, we have attending many concerts from these two musical periods.
I recently met a lovely new person in my women’s group who told me about a local sixties musician. She asked us to join her several times, but unfortunately we were not available. Last week we finally had time to try out this new experience. Much to our amazement there were about 50 people present at this outdoor venue when we arrived – that number grew to about 75 within the first hour. The energy of the performers was mirrored by the entire audience. For three hours, two musicians played a fabulous variety of songs non-stop which motivated everyone in attendance to get up and dance.
It was wonderful to observe the variety of dancing styles among the people, who by the way, ranged in age from 60 to 92 (the 92-year-old was a former Vogue model).
Everyone was dancing like nobody was watching and it was amazing.
