THINGS ARE NOT ALWAYS AS THEY APPEAR

As many of you know, the Furbo dog camera can be a very helpful tool for keeping tabs on your furry friend. It can alert you to excessive barking, crying, and on occasion, your dog taking selfies. However, a recent experience with Furbo was neither helpful nor amusing.

We were headed home on a crowded freeway when we received multiple texts. The video recorded our dog barking frantically for a long period of time. As I was viewing the video, I noticed that there was an emergency alert on the most recent recording. It reported glass breaking, and the slamming of doors could be easily heard. My first reaction was that our pup had somehow knocked something over, but that seemed unlikely. We decided to call the police to check out our property.

When we pulled into the driveway, there were two squad cars and several police officers present. They reported no visible evidence of a break-in and requested to enter our home. Once inside, they assured us that no one had entered in our absence. We were confused, but relieved to know that Bella’s reaction, and the video was not connected to any foul play.

Later that evening, I replayed the video that led me to call the police. Upon careful inspection, I noticed a small time stamp in the corner. The video was recorded at 8:15 in the morning, which coincided with the time my husband emptied out the dishwasher.

Things are not always as they appear.
