Today is January 1, 2024. Now that it is officially the new year, it is time to wrap up the “paperwork” from 2023. ”Paperwork” is the euphemistic term for several months of credit card statements, bank statements, and assorted unopened envelopes which have yet to be filed.
At the end of each year, I pull out multiple file folders, large rubber bands, and a big black Sharpie and within a few minutes, an empty sorter is ready for the upcoming year. Last year’s credit card file folder ended up significantly larger than all of the other folders since it reflected the purchase of many items from Amazon’s “Things You Must Have” along with “Oprah’s Favorites” and “Top Ten Things Your Dog Needs”. As a result, I have decided that I have to step away from the keyboard and stop clicking on Facebook ads.. Being as I am not about to compare the UPS return receipts to the actual statements, I am going to believe that about half of the purchases listed on my credit card statements were returned.
Now that I have accomplished the file folder task, I will create a list of other equally interesting tasks that need to be done in the next few weeks. Like cleaning out the freezer and remembering the article on “Thirty
Ways To Use Frozen Peas.”
Happy 2024!
