It has been thirty years since I have been on a cruise, unless you count the submarine ride at Disneyland. There is a very simple reason why I avoid this popular vacation choice – I get seasick.
In the past I have made many attempts to avoid this unpleasant side effect via prescription patches, wristbands, acupuncture, ginger pills, and a positive attitude, none of which have been successful. The only thing that keeps this reaction at bay (literally) is 24/7 Dramamine. The good news is that while taking this medication, overeating is not an issue and I take a lot of naps. The warning label states that operating machinery can be dangerous, but I do not believe that slot machines fall into that category. One benefit is that if my reaction time is impaired, I will lose money at a much slower pace.
There is a positive side to everything.
