A MILLION PIECES

Last week, the handyman I hired unfortunately made a bad decision to drill a small hole in the corner of a glass sliding door frame. This resulted in one of the huge glass doors shattering into what appeared to be a million tiny pieces. The once clear glass was now completely opaque and ready to fall onto the wood floor.

Only one of us was calm at this point, and you know it wasn’t me. Upon the arrival of “the glass guy”, I was told that there were things we could learn from this experience – primarily that I needed to be more patient, and that the handyman needed to not do things he wasn’t skilled at. The massive door was carefully lifted off the track and brought to the parking lot where all of the sparkly tiny pieces were dislodged onto a giant tarp. The “glass guy” then reinstalled the door – minus one giant piece of glass.

Seven days after this incident, the door was once again removed and new glass was installed. The question remains – what did I learn? Did I learn to be more patient?

I learned that sliding doors are double-paned, what a million pieces looks like, and that I need a new handyman.
