WASTE MANAGEMENT

Today was one of those rare days when I do not have anything I need to do – no appointments, no UPS returns, and no piles of laundry staring at me. It was a good “clean out the bathroom drawers” kind of day.

After memories of cleaning my mother’s bathroom prior to selling her house, I decided it was a good idea to do some serious purging in my own bathroom. I still remember being amused and a little scared by the contents of her drawers.

It didn’t take long to start tossing a multitude of items into the trash can, which is also called a waste bin. I think that in my case, the word “waste” refers to the amount of money spent on unnecessary items. Leading the list were enough colorful contact lens holders to open an optometry office, many mascaras which guaranteed to create long and luxurious lashes instantly, and countless sample sized packets of unopened “miracle age defying” face creams. The only “miracle” was that I could close the drawer despite the overwhelming amount of products it contained.

I must admit that having my bathroom drawers organized gave me a sense of accomplishment. I am feeling inspired to tackle another project – the medicine cabinet.

I am definitely going to need another trash can.
