In a matter of weeks, my grandson will be graduating from elementary school. As a former teacher, I have immense gratitude for the quality of his education throughout the past six years. These experiences have enabled him to develop his strong academic abilities and to truly become a person of character.
While watching our children grow up, many of us have learned how quickly time passes. The hopes and dreams that we had for our sons and daughters have now been transferred to our grandchildren. This animated and inquisitive little boy is becoming a capable and insightful young man right before our eyes, with dreams of his own.
As I watch this transition to middle school, I will undoubtedly shed more tears than I did at my grandson’s preschool graduation. In preparation, my purse will be armed with lots of Kleenex and waterproof mascara.
I can’t wait to see where life takes him.
