It has been over four months since my husband had open heart surgery. We will always be grateful for the incredible care he received and for the heart pump that has created our “new normal.”
I now have a responsibility which is easy and somewhat amusing. Every time he takes a shower, I “cut and paste” a large square of Press n Seal plastic wrap at the top of the line which connects to his device. I then put surgical tape around the perimeter to create a waterproof barrier. Basically we have a highly sophisticated and expensive medical device being protected by the same wrapping as a ribeye steak.
The description of Press n Seal states that it seals tightly to paper, plastic, metal, wood, and glass. No reference to skin is given, but it really does work. Apparently just like duct tape, this common product has uses far beyond the obvious.
I might even buy a second box and and actually use it on food – minus the medical tape.
