AGING GRACEFULLY?

Like many of you, I have heard the phrase “aging gracefully” used many times. From my perspective, the words aging and gracefully are not compatible.

Here are some reasons why I feel this way:

  1. Spending four weeks watching a skunk stripe form at the top of your head and then spending two hours covering it up every month.
  2. Your teeth taking turns developing cracks which need crowns, and root canals, extractions on a regular basis.
  3. Putting on eyeliner and noticing within one hour that the single dark line at the end of your eye has now formed a group of intersecting lines resembling a road map.
  4. Walking up stairs and hearing creaking sounds coming from your knees which are loud enough to inform your dog of your location.
  5. Buying green liquid capsules of Advil because it resembles candy, not medicine.

I am definitely aging, and I am still somewhat graceful, but “aging gracefully”?

I don’t think so.

One response to “AGING GRACEFULLY?”

  1. You hit the nail on the head!
