Here are 10 reasons why grandmothers are different than other people:

1. Grandmothers will watch with enthusiasm while their grandkids type every single emoji available to mankind on an iPhone.

2. Grandmothers will respond to countless texts from their grown children with the words, “I am sorry” when their grandchildren are driving their own parents crazy.

3. Grandmothers will eat food made by their young grandchildren even though they know where their grandkids’ hands have been.

4. Grandmothers will eat food made by their young grandchildren even though they DO NOT know where their grandkids’ hands have been.

5. Grandmothers will add chocolate chips to any food they prepare for their grandchildren. which leads these children to believe that chocolate is at the top of the food pyramid.

6. Grandmothers keep endless craft supplies in their homes and display EVERY project made by their grandchildren. ( I am currently looking at a macaroni “sun”, a button tree, a crayon resist rainbow and a pompom animal that might be a cat).

7. Grandmothers will sit for two hours while their grandkids read ALOUD the attributes of the 800 Pokemon characters in a book the grandmother bought for them. (Yes, that really happened).

8. Grandmothers will bid $240 at the school auction so that their grandchild can have ice cream with the PE coach. (Yes, that really happened, too).

9. Grandmothers will find every restaurant in the San Fernando Valley that serves Kraft Mac and Cheese because that is all that her grandchild wants to eat. (OK- so that may be a slight exaggeration- I only found three).
