This post is actually a thank you to my new manicurist. In doing some research about the popularity of manicures, I found it amazing that the nail industry makes over 20 billion dollars globally every year. That means many people, like me, are spending significant time and money on their nails for various reasons.

I have been getting manicures throughout my adult life because having colorful nails helps eliminate my unhealthy habit of chewing on my fingers, which started as a young child. Unlike most women, I select the same color so often, and it would not surprise me if the receptionist announces that number 612 (OPI Girls Gone Plaid) has arrived, instead of using my name.

For me, a good manicure experience requires that the environment is aesthetically pleasing, the atmosphere is calm, and the manicurists are professional. I recently found a wonderful salon and an outstanding manicurist who exceeds my expectations.
