In one of my earlier posts, I wrote about all of the cooking appliances that I have purchased. Several of them have not been used in years and yet I still feel compelled to let them live on my kitchen counter even though I may never use them again.
I bought an air fryer a few years ago, and used it until I could no longer thoroughly clean the inside basket. After walking through the aisles of our local Costco a few weeks ago, I spotted a reasonably priced air fryer that claimed to have an easy to clean fry basket. Being as I believe in second chances and sometimes fourth chances (which is by the way too many chances), the box found itself in my shopping cart. Even though I had just eaten lunch, I ripped open the box as soon as we got home, and threw some frozen chicken nuggets inside. Within a few minutes, the little guys were an amazing golden color and the kitchen smelled great. The best part was that the inside basket really was unbelievably easy to clean – the worst part was that even though I had no real interest in eating a second lunch, I found myself dipping the golden contents of the machine in ranch dressing.
Our housekeeper ended up adopting the first fryer and I am pretty sure that she figured out a way to restore it to its original condition, as well as saving it from abandonment issues.
I think the instant pot, which also lives on the counter, just gave me a dirty look.
