THE REAL MEANING OF LIVING LIFE

This will be a short post because the topic is not my usual upbeat, humorous style of writing. The reason I am writing is because I have been told to write about my feelings following my husband’s major stroke which has left him in need of 24 hour nursing care in a facility for the rest of his life according to the medical staff.

My world as I knew it no longer exists and my heart is shattered into a thousand tiny pieces. The strong, capable woman I used to be has been reduced to a fragile, petrified person. My feelings range between fear, anger, unbearable pain, and disbelief all within minutes.

In keeping with my trademark humor, I will end this post by saying that my dog has benefitted greatly from the fact that my grief stricken brain keeps forgetting things. Needless to say, I often can’t remember if I have fed her. As a result, she is eating extra meals and is probably hoping that this trend is permanent.
